U.S. armed Israel with advanced equipment

United States will arm Israel with missiles and advanced fighter jets, U.S. defense secretary said that the new Chuck Hagel during a visit to Jerusalem.

The agreement is part of a package of arms trade of U.S. $ 10 billion that involves Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Hagel said the weapons would make Israel remains superior in terms of weaponry than its neighbors.

Weapons deal with U.S. regional ally comes amid rising concerns about Iran's nuclear program.

Israel and the U.S. have said they are ready to take military action to prevent Iran's nuclear activities which they suspect is aimed at making nuclear weapons.

Iran denies the charge and insists its nuclear program is peaceful in the public interest.

In a press conference with Israel's defense minister on Monday, Hagel said the U.S. would provide a set of advanced military equipment to Israel.

The package includes antiradiasi missiles designed to destroy enemy air defenses, radar high-tech fighter jets for airlines, aircraft refueling and transport aircraft KC135 V22.

Israel may use KC135 for remote operation against Iran.

Sales V22 also marks the first time the aircraft was released to another country outside the United States.

Hagel says President Obama has made "not only maintain but enhance the military defense of Israel as a top priority."
